Strike One

Andrea Prostko’s new novel Strike One! is all about the game of life: What does it truly mean to be a hero? Is a hero the player who wins the game, or the person who stands up for what he believes is right?

Fifth grader Billy Carmichael is a very popular star baseball player. He is looking forward to his last few weeks at school, and the biggest baseball game of the year. But first, Billy must decide what to do about his best friend, Jacob, who is a bully. Jacob has been terrorizing Timmy, the new kid at school.

While Billy talks to his father and decides what he should do about the situation, circumstances lead the bully needing to turn to his victim for help. Strike One! is all about playing fairly in the game of life.

About the Author: Andrea Prostko hopes to encourage young boys to read. She lives with her family in suburban Detroit and is working on her next book.
