October event for NY Times best-selling author

Tickets Selling Fast for The Crazy Sexy Pink Fund Luncheon Featuring Kris Carr, NY Times Best-Selling Author & Wellness Warrior

When New York Times best-selling author of the Crazy Sexy Cancer books and self-acclaimed "Wellness Warrior" Kris Carr takes the stage Oct. 1 at the Crazy Sexy Pink Fund Luncheon at The Royal Park Hotel, metro Detroit will get first hand information on how this Stage IV Liver Cancer survivor transformed her health and life through diet, exercise, and mindful meditation.

The event benefits The Pink Fund, a Michigan based charity that makes direct bill payment for breast cancer patients in active treatment who have lost all or a portion of their income due to their treatment protocol. The 700-seat luncheon takes place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, the Royal Park Hotel, 600 East University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307.

Kris Carr's uplifting TLC and Discovery Channel documentary, Crazy Sexy Cancer, and the companion book series, have been deemed the "must have" guides to rebuilding the body and spirit during and after cancer.

The luncheon is preceded at 9:30 a.m. by a special yoga class for 100 participants, facilitated by Jonny Kest of The Center for Yoga with assistance from Kris Carr.

"Many of us embrace a new healthful lifestyle after our diagnosis," states Pink Fund Founder Molly MacDonald, a 6-year breast cancer SurThrivor.™ "We are learning that developing these habits could be beneficial in disease prevention across the board, especially given the extent of toxins in our food, homes, and environment."

Tickets are available at www.thepinkfund.org. Ticket prices are $75 for the luncheon and $100 for the lunch/yoga class. Ms. Karr will sign books in the lobby following the luncheon.

The event is sponsored in part by Whole Foods Market, Beaumont Hospital's Integrative Medicine Department, and Sola Life & Fitness. Honorary Co-Chairs are Jen Green, ND, head of the Naturopathic Department at Beaumont Hospitals Cancer Care Center, and Stacy Goldberg, M.P.H., R.N.
