Defending animals author

Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States and New York Times best-selling author of "The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them," will speak and sign his book at the Detroit Zoo's Ford Education Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. Pacelle will be in Detroit to participate in the Detroit Zoological Society's Center for Zoo Animal Welfare international symposium Saturday and Sunday Aug. 6 and 7 at the Detroit Zoo. More than 100 animal welfare professionals are expected to attend "From Good Care to Great Welfare — Advancing Zoo Animal Welfare Science and Policy".
